John,

VATLST syntax (like almost all other PARMLIB members) is found in the
Initialization and Tuning Reference Manual.

For z/OS 1.10 that is SA22-7592-17

Hallo To All,

My question is about the VATLIST.  I am not sure if I am using the proper
terminology.  This member is found in SYS1.PARMLIB and is scanned by the system
to verify the disk status after an IPL is performed.  What I would like to know
what the fields represent.  I have fair idea but I would like a confirmation.
I GOOGLED for VATLIST but the search gave me results that I am not looking
for.  Here is an example to better explain my question
VATDEF IPLUSE(PRIVATE) SYSUSE(PRIVATE)
AGIA* ,0,2,3390    ,N
CTUI* ,0,2,3390    ,N
DBI0* ,0,2,3390    ,N
TMCI* ,0,2,3390    ,Y
WORK1*,0,0,*      ,N

The first field is the VOLSER, I  think that the "2" represents that the volume
is mounted as PRIVATE.  The "0" (in the second field) means that the volume is
mounted as STORAGE.  I am not sure what the "0" in the first field indicates
and what the "N" or "Y" in the last field signifies.

I welcome all your input.  Also, for the future could someone tell me where I
can find this information..

Thanks in advance for your help.
