And that one surprised me.  I needed to try it to persuade
myself it's true.  I had long believed that data set names
enclosed in apostrophes were not eligible for catalog
processing.  I guess that applies to DSN=, but not to
DCB=.

And if I include an invalid (well, lower case) character in
the data set name, I get IEF212I, which seems to be a catalog
error, not a JCL syntax error.
