That's how we do it: every LPAR has the exact same console UCB definitions. 
Names are made unique via system symbols. The controllers (a Visara and an IBM 
2074) keep things straight. 

Note: we do not define consoles in the IODF/IOCDS. Any true NIP issues are 
dealt with from the HMC console facility. The interface is a little clugy (not 
all prompts appear), but it works well enough for a shop that never IPL's.

Smoke and mirrors.  It's been that way since MVSCP.  2 LPARs can have
the same address that are 2 completely different physical devices or visa
versa if you want to make it really confusing to your operators!
