Ed,

I regret what I said. I should have just kept my thoughts to myself.
It wasn't meant to be unkind. It was just meant to question whether.
experiences on this particular Subject from 10 years ago were relevant
today.

I hope you really don't evaluate products based on what people say
about your posts rather than on the product's merits.

>It appears there is nit picking going on where non is needed, IMO.

I don't think I was nitpicking. Many people don't understand,
that to get the same results from both products, you need to use
EQUALS for both of them. And whether you have EQUALS on or not
depends on how its set as an installation option at the site.
You said you had to turn it on for DFSORT. You could just as easily
have had to turn it on for Syncsort. You seemed to imply that the
difference was more than that. If I misinterpreted what you said,
I'm sorry, but I suspect others might have too. I just wanted to
set the record straight.

Likewise with $ORTPARM/DFSPARM. You were talking about a function
that you used with Syncsort 10 years ago and questioning whether
DFSORT had it. I just pointed out that DFSORT had it 10 years
before that. I don't see how what I said about it could be construed
as nitpicking, downplaying it or anything else negative. I agree
it's a good option.

Perhaps we should both chill out.
