There is a typical cycle where a couple of decades ago some companies found a need for a powerful, efficient sort utility that competed favorably with what IBM offered. They sold their product, and then IBM decided to put sufficient effort into what previously did not interest them - and succeeded in removing that advantage that the competitors had. I suspect virtually all of the customers now of the competitors are there now because it's easier than changing after all this time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
