We are currently running Linux under Z/VM as well as Z/os.

Since we are more familiar with the Z/os environment, we opted to backup our
Linux volumes using FDR under Z/os. It appears that no procedure was ever put
into place to bring down VM and Linux while the backups were being run.

Our question(s) to the group is this: How do you backup your Linux volumes?
Does VM need to be down while the backups are being run?
Does anyone have a 7/24 requirement and how do you preform backups?

TIA,
Dave O'Brien
