In "Operations", we're either "engineers" or "analysts" ("situation analyst" is
my
personal favorite). We're trying the "tech specialist" title on for size here,
possibly to differentiate "run of the mill" engineers/analysts from the rest,
but
in reality it means little to our day-to-day responsibilities, and is probably
more
useful to HR when assigning ratings/rankings for bonuses, merit increases,
and, more importantly, job retention.
