Only GRS-Ring allows you to go outside the scope of a single SYSPLEX. GRS-Ring has (exponential) performance issues. MIM performs better (IMO) than GRS-Ring. If you put the controls into the CF (GRS* -- optional with MIM), then you cannot span SYSPLEX's, because you cannot share CF's between SYSPLEX's. All of that being said, what exactly do you want to do? If you don't go beyond 2 SYSPLEX's, GRS-Ring won't hurt too much. And, you can save the cost of 2 MIM licences. - Too busy driving to stop for gas! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
