We looked into it, at a previous shop, and tried to do it with other automation (OPS/MVS). At the time, the product wasn't mature enough (timing issues), so we had to come up with another approach. The answer was two-fold, and almost blatently obvious: 1. Production ENQ conflicts are usually scheduling issues -- fix the schedule. 2. For those you can't fix, increase the number of initiators.
