Maybe I'm misunderstanding the intent here, but why can't you define an 'arbitrary object' in the ichrrcde?

You could, but what about the programming necessary to use it? APF-authorization, etc. to define and delete the entities? Plus the programming needed to set names to the correct length, fill in the access list, etc.

You could be opening a very large can of worms here. Is it worth it?

As I read the original question, what the OP really needs is a simple and easy-to-use database.
