Hi Tom, Good questions. My answers are below...

Are these DSFMSrmm tape catalogs?

This catalog in question is an ICF Catalog containing entries for our
tape datasets. (we do happen to be using rmm)

Is there a shared tape library?

No. Each system has it's own rmm control dataset.

How much activity is anticipated?

Significant -- during batch processing.

Will both systems update the catalog?

No. Just one system will be updating. The other one just needs read
access.

What are the availability requirements for these catalogs?

100% for the updating system. 99% for the read-only system.

Will catalog entries be created, modified and deleted?

Yes.

How will you prevent both systems from creating or modifying the same
entry?

Since this catalog consists of only tapes, I hope the grid serializes
the access to tapes (and hence catalog updates). But in practice, only
one system will be updating the catalog.
