Your use of Markfull explains why you have volumes that you can't use although they are 99% empty. Reuse would make more sense. But that's just my opinion. Why not open an ETR with IBM and get a definitive answer? Sorry Dave, I should have made clear that the Spill volumes are DASD volumes as well, so MARKFULL, recycle etc doesn't apply (I'm not using any tapes at all, everything's DASD).
