I don't think you can use dfdss or fdr to decrease the size of an HFS. 1.) first you have to create a new smaller HFS 2.) mount it somewhere temporary /user/temp 3.) then cd to the mountpoint of the large HFS 4.) then pax -r -w -p e -X . /user/temp
