The problem with obsolete parameters is that they are obsolete.

I've never used KEYRANGES, but (as of 1.4, or earlier) if IDCAMS treats it as 
it does REPLICATE/IMBED, then you can still specify it and it will be checked 
for syntax, and ignored.

We found this out when a developer used very old control cards to re-create a 
cluster, and the two latter parms were specified, but the cluster didn't have 
the attributes, and IDCAMS finished successfully.
