OK, I did a quick 'n dirty test with a hacked Makefile and a
hand-patched flags file, and built zip 3.1b successfully with large
file support. I added -DOS390 -DEBCDIC -DSYSV -DNO_PARAM_H
and -DLARGE_FILE_SUPPORT to the flags file.
I don't have a large file to test it with at the moment - I'll have
to create one when I have the time to find a volume with enough free
space on it.
I'll look at the configure script later to see what needs to be done
there. Then I'll do the same with unzip 6.0. And the code should
probably be patched to recognize a ZOS define as well as OS390 --
time to move the mainframe support into the 21st century.
I'll keep you posted as I make progress. And when I have all the
changes, I'll post a diff to the developers' forum.
Cheers,
Bob
