My client is currently running z/OS 1.4 as a single image on a z890.
They want to install a supported z/OS system like 1.9 or 1.10.
To accomplish the install I need to LPAR the z890 and run the production
z/OS 1.4 in one LPAR and run the new z/OS (1.9,1.10) system in the other
LPAR.
The question is will the IODF that was built by the z/OS 1.4 system
allow the new z/OS (1.9,1.10) system to use the IODF file and IPL?
Or, is there any combination of creating a IODF that I can use to
accomplish this configuration?
Is this possible?
