Rick contributed significantly to the mainframe community worldwide sharing useful code on the CBT Tape and advice and commentary liberally all over the place. Rick enjoyed his career and continued to pursue work related hobbies. He assembled as complete a set of OS/360 source materials as he was able to find. It also contains a "genned" minimal system and a complete set of distribution libraries. This is the version distributed at the MVT 30th Birthday Party during SHARE in Dallas and he requested that work be attributed Rick Fochtman "Gatherer of Archaica" a fitting description. He and I got to meet for lunch once in Chicago while he stilled worked at the board of trade but I worked.
