Hi all,
We have a number development disk pools that were originally created without having the auto-migrate setting enabled. We would like to turn on auto-migrate but a large number of data sets would expire for non-usage and be deleted. To keep the masses happy we want to set the last referred date to "today" and then turn on auto-migrate for non-usage. I have been trying to figure out an efficient way to do this. I could write a REXX and VTOC listings to use IDCAMS PRINT to print a single record from each file. I could write a program to generate AMASPZAP statement to "zap" the VTOC but that just doesn't seem right and could get me in trouble with indexed VTOCS. Does anyone else have a better way to accomplish this? We have about 15,000 data sets involved with a mixture of VSAM and non-VSAM files - a number of which are multivolume. Correcting the ills of the past is always ugly. I would appreciate any additional ideas.
