Can Orion handle Syslog (in the UNIX and Security event sense of Syslog, not the mainframe sense of SYSLOG) messages as well as SNMP traps? If so, you could take a look at http://www.correlog.com/solutions-and-services/sas-correlog-mainframe.html. You can catch ABENDs -- all, or just batch, or just STC -- or ABENDs and RC>8, etc., etc. Also security events, FTP connections, etc. -- all very configurable.

We do not have any kind of monitoring software running on z/os except for what comes with the system (RMF/SMF). I have seen references on the list to products CA-OPS/MVS and Netview which we do not have. All we have is Cobol v4.2, CICSTS 4.2 and Dyl-280. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
