Hi Chris, I read that. I know it's the TCPIP subsystem which starts daemons specified in the AUTOLOG statement every x seconds, but I don't know why SYSLOG complains there is another instance running, that I don't see anywhere in the process list.
However, commenting out the line in the AUTOLOG stetament and starting SYSLOG from /etc/rc works like a charm. There must be something I'm missing, but I'm really flabbergasted anyways.
