But SMP/E nowadays is extremely permissive about what characters may appear in a CSECT() parameter of a ++MOD MCS. Some of these may reasonably be expected to be nondisplayable on typical terminals (but lower case alphabetics should not be deemed nondisplayable; at worst they are Katakana in some code pages). But what should be done with seriously nondisplayable characters? Is it the application's responsibility or ISPF's to filter or translate them? Which component is aware of terminal capabilities.
SR is a good suggestion, but I got bigger fish to fry. Stay tuned. Thanks, gil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
