R.S. is correct. Crypto Express cards can be configured 2 ways... both process handshakes. When configured as an accelerator... it only processes handshakes.
Dedicated accelerator will handle more concurrent handshakes. But you would need to be doing a whole lot of concurrent SSL handshakes to make it attractive to use it as an accelerator. High web traffic or similar would qualify. Perhaps someone that is using CEX# as an accelerator would care to comment?
