Indeed. In the vast majority of cases we are concerned with our own
data structures and code, and only need IPCS to not mess up while
interpreting those z/OS structures necessary to properly retrieve our
own information. But of course it's silent failures that are the
worry; something we've seen with a mismatched IPCS misinterpreting
system trace data.

Not an impossible thing to do; just something else to keep with the
case records, along with dump, traces, symptoms, and so on.
