In the vast majority of cases we are concerned with our own data structures and code, and only need IPCS to not mess up while interpreting those z/OS structures necessary to properly retrieve our own information. Not an impossible thing to do; just something else to keep with the case records, along with dump, traces, symptoms, and so on.
