We kept the IBM units on one floor, mostly for operators, programmers, and customer support. For data entry, we used ITT controllers and terminals; they had the advantage that the boards could be removed from the controller and placed in what was essentially a power supply. This reduced needed cables by a factor of 8. We also tried AT&T unit with flat cables, but those kept failing due to interference.
