System wide? you can display the current symbols via SDSF SYM command or the console command, D SYMBOLS, there's a utility program to allow you to set or change symbols, //A EXEC PGM=IEASYMU2,PARM='STRNAME=&SYSNAME(4:1)' for example this is just one way to set or change static symbols Carmen Vitullo
