Re notepad++ versus the hex display plugin -- NPP will complain about it and remove it when a new version is installed but you can simply install the plugin again ..takes only seconds. A bit of a hassle but the hex plugin works fine. I'm using the 64bit version but I believe it doesn't matter 32 or 64 bit.
