The ampersand for temporary dataset names is a JCL convention, not a TSO
convention.

Subject: Re: TSO RECEIVE prompt for output temporary dataset

It seems to despise the double ampersand temp DSNAME to begin with:

PROF NOPROMPT
READY
RECEIVE INDA('my.pds(memname)')
Dataset DDNAME.TEMP1 from USER1 on N1
Enter restore parameters or 'DELETE' or 'END' +
The input file attributes are: DSORG=PARTITIONED, RECFM=FB, BLKSIZE=27920,
LRECL...
You may enter DSNAME, SPACE, UNIT, VOL, OLD/NEW, or RESTORE/COPY/DELETE/END
MISSING DSNAME AND OTHER ALLOCATION KEYWORDS+
MISSING NAME OF DATASET TO BE CREATED
EXTRANEOUS INFORMATION WAS IGNORED: &&TEMP2
RECEIVE command terminated. Failure in command syntax checking. +
The command was incomplete or in error, but prompting was inhibited.
READY
END
