If you run GDPS, depending on your configuration, Shamplex is still "the rage". 
 Regardless, with respect to K systems, the ESM databases are unique.  Other 
Shamplex configurations could of course include a RACF (or other ESM) Plex, 
making security by system name difficult, at best, at least with RACF.  There 
exists a wide swath of arbitrary (in)conveniences for which, IIRC, the 
"official" term was Bronzeplex,
