Do you have any tools like, CA Vantage, Tivoli, TMS or other? You could do a simple display of all currently used tape (SMF Process) and then determine how much storage you are using.
However, when your 3494 was installed, it should have come with a certain amount of storage. If so, you should be able to see How much allocated vs. how much was used. There is probably a display on the pc attached to the 3494. Check the manuals. Or ask your CE.
