We have a utility that has always required POSIX(ON), because it uses System SSL and other Unix-y stuff. In investigating something else today, I removed that-and the utility kept running. After scratching my head and verifying various stuff, I finally tried an explicit POSIX(OFF)-and it failed as I had expected it to when no POSIX() was specified.
Did this change at some point? We're on z/OS 2.4. I'd love to remove this weird note from our doc if it's no longer needed (or at least to say "If you are on z/OS x.y or later."). https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/2.4.0?topic=options-posix still says it defaults to OFF and can be overridden. There's no other CEEOPTS in the job I'm running. What am I missing (here, I don't need a complete list of my many faults)? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
