Disclaimer: I am not a WAS admin...

A new install should not be required.

I changed the host name of a sandbox LPAR a couple of years ago and there was a
script IBM gave our
WAS admin to change the hostname. I asked him about it and it he said it was
for the daemon. So I guess
open a case with IBM WAS support and ask about it. He also mentioned if you
"didn't use symlinks
as recommended when installing" that some other things may be hard coded and
need to change.

So the best recommendation is to open a case with IBM WAS support.

Best Regards,

Mark
