Currently Rocket has a good document on the installation and setup for the git client. You mention GitHub. What we’re referring to is the client to access a git installation. Last I checked, the git client on z/OS only allows interaction with an external git instance and doesn’t provide the ability to serve as a git instance on z/OS.
