There's an empty whiteness after the '--' below.  Can't swear it's an ASCII 20, 
but it seems probable.

See section 4.3.  Usenet Signature Convention in RFC 3676: ; the RFC also 
mentions CRLF as the line separator. Of course, it's talking about the format 
over the wire.

It looks like outhouse has problems with trailing spaces, but I believe that I 
found a viable hack; type a single blank, backspace before it and then type the 
two hyphens. Please let me know if the "-- " now comes through. Thanks.
