Ladies and gentlemen,

Let me emphasize: I asked about *twelve* inch diskettes.
:-)

I'm aware of 8" diskettes, the first size, Alan Shugart, microcode load, 4381, etc. ;-)
And it is about diskettes, not hard disk drives.

BTW: the same book mention Burroughs solution: stack of 256 diskettes, also 12 inch. However (according to the book) it have never released to production.

In fact I have never ever heard about such big format. AFAIK no IBM history page mentions it.

I just found information in some book that IBM mainframes used 12 inch floppy diskettes. Late 70's.

Anybody heard about such diskettes?
