I have just brought up a standalone z/OS 3.1 system. I used ISPF 3.4, specified a dataset and volume, and the dataset was found. If I then use E to edit it, I get the message"Dataset not cataloged". This technique works fine for z/OS 2.5. Do all data sets have to be cataloged on 3.1 - or am I missing some configuration ? This was a surprise rather than a problem, as my next two steps were import the user catalog, and defined the alias for the HLQ.
