I tried this.  It somewhat works, but it _quietly_ truncates input records to
80 characters.  Nowadays this restriction ought to be considered on a par
with restricting assembler programs to AMODE=24.

The Command Reference fails to mention this in its Limitations section.

Again, a responsible function ought to issue a warning that records are
being truncated, or, better, query the user whether he wishes to
terminate or continue.
