Hmmm... Is there a legal Hercules OMVS component under MVS3.8 (OS 380?) on Hercules? In my fantasy alternate universe, IBM implemented only an ASCII OMVS kernel and allowed the shell and utilities to percolate in as FOSS while providing ASCII<->EBCDIC(CCSID) translation for Classic data sets. but that wouldn't have met the marketing POSIX requirement. -- gil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
