Carlos,

I know the generations of TS11xx, because I use to teach tapes and because I'm interested in. Last, but not least I've been using it form 20+ years. However the last member of the Jaguar family which could be attached directly (*) to the host was TS1140. Next generations and subgeneration (TS1155) could not be attached directly. Only as a backend of VTS or other VTL.

(*)
My and not only mine definition of native tape or tape directly attached:
When you mount a tape in MVS the physical cart is being mounted. The cart is the logical volume, 1:1.
Physical drive is 1:1 logical 3950 (or 3490) device.
Contrarily, VTS and other virtual tape solutions offer multiple emulated drives and volumes - but this is some POWER server with disk array for storing files (logical volumes). IMHO irrelevant for the above considerations: Physical connectivity to IBM drives required a controller box between the drive and CPC, it was true for Jaguar models J1A-1140, for whole Magstar family and for 3490 family, and earlier 3480. Notable difference for STK Titan (T10000) drives was lack of controller.

There are eight generations of 3592 tape drives: TS1170 (Models 70F & 70S), TS1160
(Model 60G), TS1155 (Model 55G), TS1150 (Model E08), TS1140 (Model E07), TS1130 (Models
E06 & EU6), TS1120 (Model E05), and J1A. All generations of 3592 tape drives

TS1170 can hold 50TB in one cartridge in native format and near to 125TB
compressed!!!

Hello

Apart from IBM, Are there any vendors who still have physical tape backup
solution.
I know Oracle withdrew it's physical tape solution last year.

Hitachi doesn't have physical tape backup solution for mainframe.

Does anyone know if fujitsu still has physical tape backup solutions?

I know its best to opt for tapeless solution but our organization for
different reason we are looking for mainframe physical tape backup solution

Any information on this would be much appreciated.
No. No vendor has physical tape attached to mainframe.
And very few still have tape as a backend to the VTS solution.
The last supported drive was TS1140.
STK/Sun/Oracle drives were withdrawn also and AFAIK before EOS of TS1140.
