When it was first released, all output was to dead trees so "printing" made 
sense. Displaying it on a screen isn't printing, hence the change to 
presentation.

Advanced Function *Presentation* or Advanced Function *Printing*?

I'd always heard "Printing" (though the acronym was often expanded as "Another 
****ing Printer") but Wikipedia and a raft of IBM web pages seem to think it's 
"Presentation". To muddy the waters further, documents like
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.4.0?topic=streams-advanced-function-presentation-data-stream
use the "Presentation" word but then mention "IBM Advanced Function Printing 
Utilities".

Is the "Presentation" word a backroname? Or was it always that?

Yes, this matters not a whit in the scheme of things!
