I don't mind you taking credit for this effluence but I don't know why you
would want to.  The rampant topic pollution resembles a cholera epidemic in
more ways than one.

I wonder if someone someday will do a thesis or dissertation on how many
days a typical discussion topic continues without any discussion of the
actual topic.

Maybe we can create an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.  There should
be at least two categories: one for groups requiring registration (like this
one) one for unmoderated usenet newsgroups.
