Interesting. I definitely missed the section of the manual that tells how to use BatchPipeWorks for other than BatchPipes-type processing. At the time I was involved, the POC was to see if BatchPipes processing could help us reduce elapsed batch processing time, so that was our focus.
BTW, the manual is still freely available from IBM here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/SSLTBW_2.5.0/pdf/asf1a210.pdf Peter From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Glenn Knickerbocker Sent: Tuesday, September 9, 2025 7:39 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Pipelines = you don't understand z/OS On Tue, 9 Sep 2025 19:05:51 -0400, Phil Smith III <mailto:[email protected]> wrote: >Ya know, I remember hearing "There's an old version of Pipelines hiding in >that BatchPipes" back in the day. It's confusing to talk about because it's two separate, disparate pieces: BatchPipes is the pipeline connecting different jobs--and/or systems? I've never had access to play with that piece and know nothing about it. BatchPipeWorks is CMS/TSO Pipelines level 1109001A included with BatchPipes. ¬R -- This message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the addressee and may contain information that is privileged and confidential.
