Allocate specifying 0 on the block size parameter, you will get the optimum block size. However, with load libraries since LRECL is zero and RECFM is U, I would suggest either 27998 or 32760. Even better, make it a library instead of loadlib, and nobody has to worry about running out of directory blocks.
