Hello All,

Not too sure how many perform ZOS ServerPac upgrades, but it has come to my
attention that IBM has significantly reduced down the number of program
utilities provided in CPAC.LINKLiB as of ZOS 2.5 and ZOS 3.1 - utiltiies such
as SMFDUMP, Master catalog convert and others that many of our clients rely one
for various purposes (such as SMFDUMP).

Looking at our ZOS 2.4 system - CPAC.LINKLIB contains 12 programs.

Our ZOS 2.5 system - CPAC.LINKLIB only contains 4 programs.

I thought our bread and butter for ZOS was to always be backwards compatible?

Why are we removing programs that are hightly useful - anyone running into same
issues - if so, are you trying to get these reinstated or ??? What are people
replacing with? At a minimum they could be included as optional source code
in SAMPLIB or such?

Since you have previous version of the CPAC.LINKLIB you still have an access to the utilities. I don't want to speak on behalf on IBM, but I suspect they just cleaned up the library. They removed the utilities which are no longer needed for installation process.

BTW: could you list the utilities?
