I don't thiink SMFDUMP was an IBM utility, it's likely the one from CBT, and 
the master catalog convert process is now supported (and has been for quite a 
while) with IDCAMS to copy parts and/or merge catalogs, and if you need the 
exact type of thing that (I think it was called MCNVTCAT) did (only better), 
you can use the one also from the CBT with RCNVTCAT.  

Most likely, someone at the site added programs to that library because it was 
authorized and available in linklist of the (at the time) newly installed 
system.  

If you list the programs, I can probably tell you where you can get the actual 
source from to rebuild if you need it, but the ones you have in the 2.5 
CPAC.LINKLIB now should still work with 3.1.  

People have used the serverpack utilities like the one to write WTO's for 
years, when much better alternatives (also free) were available.  Mostly 
because they already knew how to (mis)use them. :)
