I am trying to recover a NAS based on Debian/OMV.
I have been reading various Linux explanations on how to write a
grub config file.
I have two different thumb drives one with OMV install and
another with Mint.
I need to tell Debian 13 (Trixie) to NOT use IPV6.
I can't figure out where to put this string, which kills IPV6 for
Debian:
ipv6 disable =1 ---- (or something close to this)
Now you may ask why -- I run pfsense and I did not configure DHCP6.
I could, but from all I've been told, one keeps servers on/with
IPV4 and static addresses (which I have been doing for years).
So during the install, the system decides to try to communicate
with DHCP6 and then hangs (too bad these systems have no idea
about missing interrupt. Which I think I will suggest to the
Debian people -- what a concept.
Meanwhile if anyone knows the incantation to put the above into
the boot loader (GRUB2 in this case) from the keyboard (and I am
not running terminal mode at this early stage of the game so I
can't sudo.... arg!!
Regards,
Steve Thompson
