Meanwhile, IBM claims the z17 was "the strongest start to a mainframe program
in our history". Reports out of POK belie that, of course.

Meanwhile, they're killing the zPDT that many, many vendors rely on. At least
two long-time vendors who have Z products are getting out of the market because
of this. (Note that I don't say "IBM Z vendors", i.e., these vendors have
products for other platforms as well.)

Earnings were down because they didn't sell enough boxes. Software was up 5%
YoY. Hardware (aka Infrastructure) was down 7%. That's what Arvind got blasted
over.

Subject: IBM Earnings

IBM earnings were a disaster. Because software sales were slow. Exactly what
I'd expect because of AI and confirmed by CEO Arvind Krishna. Stock tanked 25%.
Software companies are getting squeezed. Many will go away entirely.

NVIDIA & other chip companies are thriving. The AI ramp up is only in the 2nd
or 3rd inning. Should run to at least 2030 or longer.

Funny that troll strategy. It hasn't worked for at least 5 years. Plus, the
pattern is repeated time after time. Reminds me of this cliche.
