Hi,
XCF has supported FICON for more than a decade now so all the
migration related material is rather ancient. You might try:
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redpapers/pdfs/redp0158.pdf
But there really should not be any issues. XCF lets you run with any
combination of different styles of signalling paths that you might like,
whether that be FICON CTC, ESCON CTC, or coupling facility list structures.
Assuming you want the sysplex to stay up, you just need to be sure to
maintain full signalling connectivity throughout the process. Roughly
speaking you woul add the FICON CTCs to your configuration, issue
appropriate SETXCF commands to tell XCF to start using those devices, and
update your COUPLExx parmlib to match. Then go take away the ESCON CTCs.
