Hi, this is just due to the fundamental difference between processing SMS and nonSMS managed volumes. For nonSMS, migration eligibility is managed at the Volume level, through HSM parameters. For SMS, migration eligibility is managed at the Data Set level, through SMS Management Class parameters. Refer to the DFSMShsm Storage Administration chapter on MIGRATE and you will notice that there are two sections, one for SMS and one for nonSMS. The only valid value for SMS managed volumes is DAYS(0). DAYS(0) basically says to ignore the threshold and migrate all data sets that are eligible, based on the Management Class values. (For automatic processing, migration ends when the threshold has been met, even if there are more data sets that are eligible to be processed). For nonSMS, you can override the existing HSM migration parm by specifying DAYS(n). Correct, you don't want to issue CONVERT and DBA/DBU only apply to nonSMS.
