Just setup local first before DNS for anything that you know you are going to he using a lot.. had a WebSphere AS issue that was resolved by using LOCAL DNS as the search order.. fixed the issue! It allows the sys admin the flexibility to override DNS and to shorten the lookup. Pretty handy as a sysprog tool.
