Yes sir I agree with you, I haven't touched Netview or SA in about 10+ years. 
Got away from it went I went from VTAM/NCP sysprog to Developer. But prior to 
my job change I wrote a lot of rexx and still do ..

The compiler is handy for syntax checking and other error detection that 
the interpreter won't find until your program has been in production for 
years <g>
